The ADC staff were divided into three teams and assigned the challenge of taking over a day of programming. They were to identify a theme that hasn't been done for a while to create some interesting activities.
Fire Safety Day In the morning, members had the chance to play a fire hydrant game, participate in a discussion about fire safety and decorate cupcakes. After lunch members got to try on a real fireman's jacket and hat (Thanks Nikki Hoffman!) and check out a fire truck from Finderne Fire Departments. On Hawaiian Day members played “Pass the Pineapple,” and participated in discussions about travel to Hawaii. After a tropical dessert, members posed for photos and listened to Hawaiian music. For Pet Appreciation Day the team offered activities featuring love of pets. Members watched funny animal videos, talked about animal trivia, watched an agility dog show performed by Sam and her 8 1/2 year old Lab Mix, Margie, and decorated animal cookies. They also played "Cat vs. Dogs", made pet toys, discussed their favorite animal songs and the world's most unusual pets. They collected donations of pet supplies for the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. Please visit our Facebook to see all of the photographs from these 3 days! |
